This Unique Individual Counseling Tool is Practical, Fun, and Easy to Use!
The three red ("I FEEL") blocks illustrate feelings (frustrated, irritable, anxious, appreciated and more) while the three blue ("I NEED") blocks depict needs (to talk, to take a break, to be listened to, etc.) each with four illustrations. By manipulating the blocks clients have a choice of 12 different feelings and 12 different actions.
First the client chooses one of the illustrated blocks that shows how he or she feels. After the feeling is identified, the client chooses one of the "I Need" blocks to communicate what action is required to cope with the feeling. For example, the client may choose a feeling block that says "I'm pressured" and then an action block that says "I need to calm down". And from there, a client-initiated productive session begins.
