Remote Control Worry Control Game

Includes Both Cooperative and Competitive Versions!

This game uses cognitive behavioral therapy to help combat anxiety. Its use of relaxation techniques like muscle relaxation, deep breathing, and visualization are some of the strategies employed to help relieve anxiety. During the game, players read brief case studies adapted from real-life scenarios of "anxious" or "worried" thoughts of children.

Players focus on one of three essential skills: POWER ON - positive self-talk, which breaks the negative thought cycle which can lead to escalated worry/stress; PAUSE - describe, or act out a relaxation technique; REWIND - describe a time in the past when a similar worry/stress was overcome successfully.

Players will:
  • Learn to apply positive self-talk
  • Understand the value of stress management
  • Learn from previous successes
  • Identify situations/people that contribute to stress
  • Learn and practice relaxation techniques
The game includes two sets of cards - one for ages 6-9 (grades 1-4) and one for ages 10-14 (grades 5-8) and both cooperative and competitive versions are provided.
