Peace Train: Elementary School-Wide Violence Prevention Program
All aboard! Everyone is invited to ride the peace train throughout the year to reduce conflicts and violence.
The curriculum contains structured programs for peer mediation training, staff and colleague training, and school-wide classroom guidance activities. Life-sized graphics through the school focus attention on the program's goals. A reproducible peer mediator training manual, transparency masters, and classroom guidance activities are included in the program.
Puppets for emphasizing the various ways people deal with conflict: avoidance (Turtle), open communication (Owl) and aggression (Shark), are available separately.
