Coping & Decisions - A Therapeutic Game

Developed Specifically For Mental Health Professionals!

The Coping & Decisions game helps children learn decision-making and coping skills. These skills are discussed in the framework of typical family, personal and peer problems which are a part of the game. The game is appropriate for both individual and group therapy. In each setting the therapist is able to select the cards most appropriate for the client's needs.

Prepared cards identify specific coping strategies. Considerable attention is directed at promoting the development of feeling vocabulary, particularly as it relates to various stress events and individuals in the client's environment. An array of feelings fordifferent stress events (death, divorce, peer issues, family transitions, etc.) allows for the reframing of thoughts and feelings exhibited. Prepared cards also identify many peer related and family conflict situations.

The variety of card content and the multiple game boards allow for a unique combination of games to address the issues or skills selected. Individual and group brainstorming allows further discussion and helps improve decision-making.
