The Superhero Game
Teaches Empathy, Self-Motivation and Emotional Control!
In this fun game, children answer questions about their values, as they attempt to defeat monsters from outer space (Bork the BULLY, SELFISH Grabber, HEARTLESS Hairy, LAZY Slug and TEMPER TANTRUM). Players learn that a true superhero is empathic and motivated, has good self-control and stands up for the rights of others!
As children play The Superhero Game, they cover the monsters on the game board with Good Deed Stars. A true Super Hero is measured by his or her deeds. And, as an added bonus, when the board becomes covered with stars, turn off the lights to see them glow!
Ages: 6-12
2-6 Players
Photo Social Stories Card Game
35 Cards That Teach Kids Social Skills for Everyday Situations.
Simple stories, illustrated with concrete photographs, teach children how they are expected to act in typical social situations. Each story is followed by bulleted highlights and a set of interactive questions. The photographs encourage conversation and provide an illustration of the story for children who learn more visually.
These stories are geared toward elementary school children but can also be useful for older children with more basic social skill needs.
Ages: 5-12
Out of Your Mind Game
From the Creator of the Ungame!
One of the greatest problems in helping children is the difficulty of knowing what is really going on in their minds - the thoughts, the feelings, the fears, the desires. This therapeutic game will help you draw all of these out of their minds in a way that is fun and educational. This non-competitive game has two sets of winners: the counselor or therapist wins by drawing important information out of the players' minds, and the players win by learning important social skills.
Players will enhance their communication skills, their listening skills, and their decision making skills. They will improve their ability to understand others and experience empathy. Activities are designed to make sure that all this takes place in an atmosphere that is emotionally safe and supportive.
Playing Time: Flexible
Ages: 6-Adult (Grades 1 & Up)
2-6 Players
Use Your I's Board Game (Social Communication)
Use Your I's is a board game that teaches children how to express their feelings without jeopardizing the rights of others. Game cards provide realistic situations that provoke emotions such as anger, guilt, humiliation, happiness, and embarrassment. Players learn to verbally describe their feelings to others and explain why they feel the way they do. Use Your I's also helps children become comfortable using the first-person pronoun to share their feelings.
Ages: 5-10
Exclusively at Self Help Warehouse.
