This beautifully illustrated card set is a practical and creative tool to help children understand their feelings and for develop emotional literacy.
The central characters (a boy and a girl) express and share a range of intense feelings, both positive and difficult. For example, 'Sometimes I feel like the world is my enemy' and 'Sometimes I feel like I am my very own super hero'.
Following the characters' expressions, children are encouraged to recognize and explore the intensity of their own emotions safely through metaphor, while at the same time 'owning' the feelings as the story is told through the first person.
The cards can serve as a springboard to allow children to invent their own personal metaphors for their feelings, and will help them to realize that they are not alone in feeling as they do.
