This colorful activity will help children to document where they came from, and learn the importance of their ancestry. They will also come to understand the important role they play as a member of the family unit. The family tree provides an opportunity to discuss how a family evolves and branches out in different direction.
Instructions: A banner with the child's last name is placed on the trunk of the tree, and a leaf with the child's name is placed in the center of the tree. Children fill in a leaf noting the name, relationship and year of birth for each member of their family. The leaves are then placed in chronological order on the tree.
