Don't Break the Ice Game
This fun game is used by many therapists to help young children discuss, release & manage feelings of anger (no reading required).
Tap out ice blocks one by one, but Don't Break the Ice! To win, the bear must stay on top. One wrong block, and he'll go ker-plop!
This fun game also provides a play therapy technique to help children pound away bad feelings. In this game the child discusses a situation that caused them to have a negative feeling and then taps out a block of ice to get rid of the feeling. The therapist helps the child think about ways to avoid/handle the situation in the future.
Complete directions for this therapy game ("Pounding Away Bad Feelings" can be found in the book "101 Favorite Play Techniques"). Additional therapy techniques using this popular game can be found in "Therapeutic Interventions Using Non-Therapeutic Games", as well as in numerous other sources.
