Debriefing Thumball
A Truly Unique and FUN Tool to Help Participants Debrief an Experience!
The Debriefing Thumball was designed to help facilitators ask debriefing questions in a proper sequence that makes sense to participants. The three different colored panels on the thumball correspond with a 3 stage sequence of questions. 1. "What Happened?" (Orange) 2. "Why is This Important?" (Green) 3. "How can you use this information?" (Blue). The sequence of questions not only takes participants through a progression for processing a specific event but also presents an overall structure on proper processing.
Sample Questions: Describe a feeling you experienced. (Orange), What was difficult for you? Why? (Green), What is one thing you may do differently in the future? (Blue).
Instructions: There are 32 different processing questions pre-printed on the panels of the ball. Invite your group to sit or stand in a circle. Answer 3-6 questions per color. Orange first, Green second, Blue third. Throw it, Catch it. Depending on what color question you are on, look under your thumb or closest to your thumb and answer the question! Participant responses can vary each time you play.
Suggestions: Respond to the panel under your thumb by answering for yourself. Respond by asking another player to answer. Predict the answer another player would give.
The thumball is soft, suitable for indoor or outdoor play and measures approximately 6" diameter.
Ages: Teens+
